I have eaten here three times, and had three fabulous brunches. This is how brunch should be.

We read a few great reviews of this place and after having breakfast here, must say they are well deserved. We found they offered a very good selection of items, the food and service were excellent. Even their drip coffee was top notch. Our Eggs Rosa had perfectly poached eggs, a tasty chicken sausage and a nice slab of grilled polenta. Looking around the other patrons equally enjoyed their selections. Nice that it was away from the center or town. I felt like a savvy local eating here.

tasty tasty tasty! i came here just a few days ago for the first time after hearing my parents rave about it. the three of us split a bacon and mushroom omelet and the lemon ricotta pancakes and that was PLENTY of food! the omelet was really tasty -- filled with bacon, mushrooms and spinach. the pancakes were delicious, too though i wish i had asked them to leave off the berry puree. the staff was very attentive even though every single table was full. the prices were good and the decor is very sweet. i eyed what everyone else was being served at other tables and everything looked delicious.

Customer service has gone downhill over last two years. Incredibly slow, and the male barista has a seriously sour attitude. A pleasant "Thank You" and a smile would be greatly appreciated. I used to love this place ... now I dread going in. Please please please bring back your wonderful smiley prompt service and I'll be your biggest fan.

We had breakfast here on a Sunday, and it was terrific. They were very busy however, so don't expect fast service on a weekend. The food was very good, and the décor is a lot of fun without being too twee. We would definitely eat here again.

almost left here because they were only doing brunch on sunday and brunch menu leaned very heavy on the breakfast side with no real lunchy options, but we stayed and the food was good. tasty egg blt with english cheddar.

Honestly, the coffee was one of the best I've ever had and my husband agreed about his as well. He had the lemon ricotta pancakes which had excellent flavor, light and lemony and couldn't get any better. I had (which he shared with me) the sausage biscuits & gravy which came with eggs AND potatoes. I usually find something to complain about and I have to say that it could not have been any better than it was. I'd go back there in a heart beat!

Stopped on a sunny Saturday in early February well past the prime lunch hour (got there approximately 1:30 p.m.) and noticed only about 30% of outside seating was taken, and maybe 40% of the inside tables occupied. Stood inside the cafe for about 5 minutes before catching a waitperson rushing through and asking for a table. She asked us to wait a minute and she'd find someone to help. About 5 minutes later another couple came in seeking only coffee and a pastry. They waited along side us for another 5-10 minutes before another employee finally showed up. We were told to ignore the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign and find a table for ourselves. Okay. Got to table. Waited. Got up, retrieved a couple menus, and returned to table. About then, wait staff finally found us, provided some water, and took our order (we didn't dare delay in case she didn't return). By now, every other occupied table was nearing the end of their meal so we assumed we'd get served promptly. Bad assumption. Took a good 45 minutes to get our cups of Salmon Chowder -- which was easily the BEST Salmon Chowder I've ever tasted, but I doubted they made those two cups fresh just for us, so there was really no reason to wait that long for the soup course. Immediately after getting the soup, our entrees arrived. The Salmon BLT was very good -- salmon was perfectly done (a rarity even in the best restaurants) and the seasoning was spot-on. Only negative was the blandness of the tomato, though that's to be expected when being served fresh tomatoes in February. The Roast Pork Loin sandwich was very good, but the pork was dry and a little tough -- it might have been perfect during the noon-hour, but my serving seemed to have been sitting in a warming tray for some time. Other than the pork, though, the sandwich was great. The walnut bread was incredibly flavorful, and the addition of Gorgonzola gave just enough bite to the otherwise slightly bland blend of dry pork and over-sautéed onions between the slices of that wonderful bread. French Fries was very good. Hot, crisp, and not oily. All in all, a pretty good meal with very poor service.

Laurette's is always a delight in large part because Laurette is so passionate about her customers and good, local food. Brunch is our favorite! Thanks Laurette!

Best coffee in Port Townsend (coming from the Seattle coffee snob), best brunch by far (Generous portions=I always leave with leftovers) and great big delicious mimosas. Order the farmer's market scramble (the produce is picked out at the farmer's market that morning). Dinner here is great as well, a little sad it's only on Friday and Saturday. Order fish, it's always cooked perfectly. Julie is always friendly and a rockin' barista as well and Laurette is as sweet as her cakes. Can't think of a bad thing to say other than I might go broke if I ate here everyday. But it would be worth it.

OK, 4.5 stars really. Service was great. Wine great. Our dishes were good plus. Short ribs a little fatty....I think they could have been defatted the day before and been better. Cassoulet was a little dry. And it was kind of expensive. I didn't get much meat. But the atmosphere was great. I'd go back for sure. I wanted everything on the menu!!!

We recently visited Sweet Laurette's after reading great reviews on-line. I'm a big fan of the slow food movement, and locally and organically sourced restaurants. I loved how there menu explained their story and mission and it made me even more anxious and excited for brunch. It was so adorable - the decor, the ambiance and I had the best eggs Benedict in my life! Seriously, like for real this time. It came with fresh, local grilled salmon that was so tasty. The hollandaise sauce was light, lemony, buttery and smooth. The meal was a bit on the pricey side, but the portions were generous and worth every penny. The food was amazing and the coffee was delicious (the served their sized medium coffee drinks in bowls) and the place itself was SO CUTE! Very warm and inviting. I makes me want to go home and redecorate! If I ever make my way back to Port Townsend (which the town itself had so much character), I will be there. It will difficult not to want to enjoy breakfast, lunch AND dinner there!

Breakfast before the Farmers' Market was a 4 star experience. Service was great, food was terrific but it so blasted hot, I had to order ice for my water. Screen doors and turning the ceiling fan up a notch would have garnered another star from me.

Cute place! Took my husband here for a birthday dinner and I had arranged for us to have vegan meals. Service was a little slower than expected, but I kind of expect that when I'm in a small(er) town. We each got glasses of the house wines, which were really good and started by sharing a salad. We both got the vegan option, which was a bed of polenta with an abundance of vegetables - sauteed green beans, brussel sprouts, and red cabbage, mushrooms, roasted potatoes...the list was endless. It was super delicious and fresh, though a little on the bland side (A common fault of vegan cooking - or I just like super flavorful food). Still very good though. Dessert was a few scoops of mango and raspberry sorbet and chai/coffees for the two of us. I like the concept and the decor, and I can't speak for all of the food thanks to my vegan experiment but I've heard all of the people in town say how good this place is, and I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes!

My first experience eating at Sweet Laurette was so divine, I feel like shouting from the Yelp rooftops! After seeing the scrumptious-looking photos of the french toast here on Yelp, I decided to head over to Sweet Laurette's for a late breakfast this morning. Unfortunately, I arrived a few minutes too late for breakfast, and so I decided to order from their lunch menu instead. I'm so glad I did! I ordered their Roast Pork Loin Sandwich and it was bliss! The sandwich is made with sweet walnut bread (griddled to perfection), melty gorgonzola cheese, and shreds of crisp green apple. It had such an amazing flavor and texture. Truly, truly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The restaurant itself is very bright and quaint. The waitresses were friendly in a quiet way, and service was quick. I can't wait to go back tomorrow and order breakfast!

We recently visited Sweet Laurette's after reading great reviews online, so maybe our expectations were a little high. We were seated immediately on Sunday, which was great since I had heard there could be a bit of a wait, and the coffee came quick. We ordered 2 dishes, some berry waffles and an egg dish. We felt the menu was very limited, and most of the items contained lemon... which my husband doesn't care for. The waffles were just ok, and the egg dish was pretty tasty. There were about 1/2 cup of potatoes with the egg dish which was disappointing. The baked goods in the bakery section looked outstanding, and we thought they should try and incorporate them into the menu. We would have loved to try them. Service was good though! We probably won't return... will try somewhere else for breakfast next time we're in Port Townsend.

Just had divine salmon and corn cakes. It was a beautiful combination with tasty, crunchy vegetables. The server was super friendly and very helpful. Wines by the glass were all pleasant matches to the dish. The strawberry rhubarb pie was delectable. Even the crust was a buttery bit of heaven. The tartness of the pie was complemented by smooth vanilla ice cream. Service was well paced and personal. Just a great meal. We will be back for breakfast.

Great experience! We had two sandwiches and a scramble. The fries were excellent and piping hot. I could have just eaten a plate of fries. Service was good and baked goods we took with us were a delicious treat on the ferry ride home.

I've had to go out to Port Townsend a lot over the last few months and have eaten here several times since my original review. I have eaten a variery of dishes and they have all been good (if you're a first-timer, try whatever sort of Benedict they have, the lemon ricotta pancakes, or the farmer's market scramble). The menu has a comment from the owner that three years ago she started working with local farms to source fresh ingredients. I remember noticing that they had upped their game about that time. It's good to eat at a place that has aspirations without pretension, and even better to eat at a place that realizes those aspirations. Our most recent trip was with friends, a group of 8. We got in quickly, though I doubt it would have been so easy during tourist season. I have to give a shout out to the waitress who was as efficient as she was pleasant. We had other serious eaters in that group and they all walked away satisfied with both quality and quantity. One friend had to say "no mas" and that's the first time I've ever seen that (but this was while he was trying to finish his wife's crab cake after his own biscuits and gravy). They do know how to make a good hollandaise here, that's for sure! They also know how to make a well-balanced mocha.

Five stars, without question. Friendly service, but nothing elaborate. I hate that bend-over-backwards-for-every-customer stuff. Awesome food. I was nearly paralyzed by indecision. Should I get the Croque Madame, or the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes? The Frenchman's Toast, or the Pain Perdu? I went with the pancakes, and they were light, fluffy, subtle, and delicious. Coffee drinks are fun, too, with just a little imagination but nothing so weird you're afraid to order it. Cute decor, great location in a great little town.

OMG...we had the most delicious breakfast. My sister ordered the ricotta pancakes. They were amazing (and I don't usually like sweet breakfast food). A hint of lemon made all the difference. I ordered a half order of the huevos rancheros which was plenty of food for me. The menu was incredible...every single item sounded delicious. Service was adequate, decent ambiance. But the food, now the food was something special!

We've had breakfast here several times; mimosa brunch on Easter Sunday; and recently had our first dinner experience at Sweet Laurette's. All have been great. The food is superb with lots of attention to detail. The brunch and the recent dinner put the place over the top for us. We shared the French onion soup and it was so good...gruyere cheese browned & bubbly over the hunk of crusty bread and the carmelized onions in a perfect brown broth. It's been about a month now, so I can't remember what salads we had, but remember they were good too. I had a special for the evening which isn't always on the menu, but I'm so glad it was that night. It was a yellow bell pepper stuffed with shrimp and cream cheese, and was drizzled with a tomatillo sauce and a cilantro sauce. I know. Not what I would have normally ordered, but was feeling a little adventurous that evening and the waitress raved about it; and it was so worth it. SO good. I wish it was always on the menu. Laurette has a gift, from the combining of flavors to the preparation & presentation of food, right down to the decor of her restaurant. It's becoming one of my top fave restaurants in town. Oh wait! Dessert. A flourless chocolate torte with fresh berries and whipped cream. It was rich and chocolately and a very generous serving; I had a bite or two and had to take the rest home. SO good! DH had rhubarb crisp and loved it.

Very good breakfast. Coffee and service are not always consistent, but very much enjoy the food and love sitting outside in the summer.

Good selection of unique breakfast items. Very traditional european bakey style with a sit down cafe area. Not a greasy spoon, nice quality well thought out food. Nice bakery and pastry items. Just a short drive up the hill from the waterfront or the ferry. Parking available in this neighborhood.

Such great reviews on yelp but...mixed results for us. Hubby had a biscuits and gravy for breakfast that was the best he ever had. I even liked it, and I am not a big gravy fan, so this boosted my rating up to a 3 star rating. I had a dutch baby pancake that promised a pear/apple compote on top. Pancake was small and I couldn't taste pear anything only apple. Side of pork/apple sausage was also boring in flavor. Coffee was weak, not what you would expect for a French bistro. Then again I thought, it could have just been what I ordered, so we returned later in the week for a pastry. They looked beautiful in the case. I ordered a carrot cake and hubby a lemon tart. We got an espresso and café mocha. The mocha was decent but the espresso was bitter. The lemon tart filling was nice and tart but it was topped with a swirl of hardened, white flavorless icing reminiscent of Crisco shortening. The shortbread crust on the tart was adequate but so hard that we couldn't cut it without chunks flying off the plate. The carrot cake was dry, not much spice or flavor and topped with the same white flavorless icing.

LOVE this place. The decor is adorable and food is delicious. Eggs Benedict is my favourite breakfast of all time, and every Sunday this place has a special twist on it. But the best thing here is their French toast. When I go out to breakfast, I rarely get something sweet - I'm much more of an eggs, potatoes and bacon kind of girl. But for Sweet Laurette's I make an exception. Words cannot describe the glory that is their French toast. If you find yourself in Port Townsend, stop in for a delicious breakfast (there is also a complete espresso bar and bakery)!

Rarely does a restaurant experience hit "perfect" from beginning to end; our last visit to Sweet Laurette did so. From the moment we walked in, the place was a buzz with customers struggling with their selections, the smell of coffee and baked goods dragged one in off the street, and we were immediately greeted by staff. As we walked past the bakery counter into the dining room, it was clear that someone had a well thought out vision of a french patisserie/bistro; the colors, the artwork, the mindful placement of everything was spot on. I felt like I left Port Townsend for a spell and was in France. Like the other reviews before mine, the menu is creative, highlighting enough basic items to keep everyone happy, and a very tough choice. Kudos to the kitchen for every dish that passed by our table, including the Farmers Market Scramble we selected was stunning in appearance as well as delicious beyond words. And finally, as we were basking in the dining experience, Laurette and staff were making sure our needs were met without being intrusive. We stayed as long as we needed and this was never an issue from their end. All in all ... a spot on experience.

Loved the breakfasts here! I got a half order of Huevos Rancheros (PLENTY of food) and my husband got a Dutch Baby. Both of us were very happy with our selections, and even more happy that we grabbed a couple of cinnamon rolls and other pastries for breakfast and lunch the next day.

We have been going o Sweet Laurette's for a long time. Today we took some new friends there to show them this wonderful little siice of heaven. How embarrassing . I always get the Lemon Ricotta pancakes, today they had a fruit puree that does not compliment them at all, used to have raspberry puree. Our friends breakfast was not not, my pancakes were not hot and I had to wait for the waitress to bring the syrup after I got my food. My husband ordered the french toast and he is the only one that got hot food. This has so tainted us that we will not be going back and we will not recommend this to anyone. Sorry Sweet Laurette, but 3 years ago your place was wonderful.......what happened?

We met "sweet" Laurette, and that woman can make a meal! We had duck breast with a crazy-good mushroom risotto, grass-fed beef burger, French onion soup, puff pastries filled with vanilla ice cream, and creme brulee. It was all locally sourced food - it's great when restaurants do that, to support the local community and to provide healthier food. Everything tasted really, really good, and the service was superb (everyone was very friendly).

Five star dinner, three star breakfast. We came for dinner on a Saturday night during a weekend visit to PT. One gal was running the whole dining room and she was awesome. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly, and super flavorful and plentiful. I had the new yours steak, he the salmon. The chocolate torte and lemon curd tart were amazing!!!! We returned the next morning before leaving to have some breakfast. To get our food it took over an hour. With such a delay you'd think they'd pop by the table to say something, nope. Our waitress was short tempered and rude to start, she got mildly friendly when she delivered our food. My Tuscan omelette was tasty, and his Tex Mex Migas were really good, also try the savory croissant, yummy! I wouldn't come back for breakfast, who wants to wait so long and endure a grump. Dinner is an definite must do again.

Wasn't expecting to find such a gem in Port Townsend. I had the Tex Mex Miga (Saturday brunch special), and my boyfriend had the Dutch Baby. Both were amazing. I also had a generous serving of mimosa for $7. Service was great. The dining room is small, but for the most part, one woman ran that dining room the entire time. As it got a little busier, I believe I saw a couple more servers come onto the floor. I don't live in town. My brother is getting married in town this weekend. If I ever do make my way back, though, I will definitely hit this place up.

Sitting outside is pleasant, but sitting and sitting and sitting waiting for our meals to arrive isn't too cool (on a very hot day). When finally arrived, our meals were very good. My fish tacos were some of the best in memory. Full of fresh fish that wasn't heavily breaded or fried and surrounded by a lovely slaw and fresh tortillas. Mr. S enjoyed his smoked salmon and egg scramble but he was eyeing my tacos with envy! I think I'd try sitting inside next time to see if service improved. Be warned: if you sit inside, the lure of the baked good may be too much to overcome!

CAN NOT SEE the Wine and Beer list. All I get is a blank page with ".I'm a PDF document You can easily add your own pdf .documents. Just follow our steps below..." ETC. What is THAT about?? Would like to go to this restaurant, and am a "sustainable" foodie, but this just turned me off, as I would be coming from over an hour away on Whidbey Island.

oh, sweet laurette's. honestly, for years, i have fondly remembered the charm of the place, magnificent frenchman's toast, and the friendly and efficient staff. upon my recent return to lovely port townsend, i couldn't wait to go back with friends. happily, each of our dishes was fabulous (frenchman's toast, eggs benedict, omelet), but sadly the service was terrible and our server seemed inconvenienced by our presence. we waited 45 minutes for our food, and 20 minutes for the card to get picked up and processed. it was not busy, which made it all the more frustrating. i'll go back because any restaurant can have a bad day, and hope that our experience was not due to overall poor management these days.

Another great meal! This is the first time I have written a review, but I live in Port Townsend and have eaten here several times. The food has always been great. Tonight we shared the French onion soup, which was amazing. This is one of my favorite soups and Laurette does a fantastic job. Highly recommended!! After that, we had the lamb and pasta dish, which was really tasty. In addition to the pasta with shredded lamb shank, the dish featured purple cabbage, butternut squash, toasted pine nuts and Manchego cheese. What I love about this restaurant is that it is real home cooking (the good 'ol fashioned kind) with high quality ingredients, generous portions, and excellent flavor. We didn't have room for dessert, so we might have to come back tomorrow night for some profiteroles. Also, the two waitresses were both very friendly and attentive. Finally, I love France, so the French theme suits my tastes perfectly. Thanks for a great evening.

The food is a 5, but the service was so bad...I have to give it a 2. We went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It wasn't that busy and we sat outside. Just two of us. It took us almost 2 hours to have breakfast there. Our server was rude, and when we finally tried to ask for the check, she was no where to be found. Asking for the check to getting our receipt took at least 20 minutes. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe she was on off server. But based on the service alone, I probably wouldn't go back.

Cute victorian cafe near the farmer's market! We had a nice breakfast here and they had duck eggs so of course we had to try it! The provencal omette was delicious and your normal cafe style breakfast...it's not super culinary but the atmosphere and service was really great! I loved all the floral table clothes and cozy space.. i also noticed they serve their lattes in latte bowls :)

I ate here while I was in town for a wedding on the recommendation of Sunset Magazine. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and my friend ordered the farmer's market scramble. I was a bit disappointed in my pancakes - they were much more dense that I expected for ricotta pancakes. However, the scramble was outstanding. Our server was welcoming and attentive. Overall, we enjoyed our brunch and would return if we're in the area again.

Not sure why as there was no explanation but we spent way too much time waiting for our food. From the time we walked in to the time we were finally served: 1.5 hours. It can't be the complexity or volume of our meals. There are two of us and we ordered grilled cheese and soup. It can't be due to a backlog as this place is half empty. Wtf?! I almost offered to go in back and help. Ok, that said, the grilled cheese was awesome. Good food here.

I had breakfast and dinner here. Both were excellent I recommend eating there. The coffee was good with nice "art". My pancakes were loaded with blueberries. My dinner, a ribeye, was cooked to perfection. The high point was the roast cauliflower. First time I got to eat this and it was beyond yummy!

We had a late Sunday "brunch". We arrived 10 minutes prior to the 2 pm closing. The hostess welcomed us and stated if we got our order in quickly they could serve us. We did. We ordered the spicy black bean chili and the house salad. The amount of food was more than expected. The chili was very good. We were able to see the dinner menu ...that looked great.

Even though it is hard to go wrong dining in Port Townsend, Sweet Laurette takes the cake. This is a little slice of French heaven. Delicious food and fine service are the regular here and you cannot go wrong with the divine dessert. Put this sweet, charming, little restaurant at the top of your list.

We made a dinner reservation, then had to change it, and it was confirmed. When we arrived we were, in a very rude manner, told our table had been given away. No apology. Needless to say we would never consider eating there, nor would we recommend this place to anyone. Disgusting attitude.

I've lived in Port Townsend for three years, and this has become my favorite restaurant. It's not a place that you go if you're in a rush, as it can take a while to get your food, but it's worth the wait. The coffee is absolutely the best, mussels are to-die-for, as are the desserts. I had the Salad Provencal (topped with fresh grilled salmon) for the first time on Friday, and now I've decided that it's my new favorite, along with the mussels. As the dining room isn't huge, it's always best to make reservations to avoid disappointment.

Went with the family here for Easter Brunch. We had pretty high expectations given the fabulous menu that is available online. And we were not disappointed. I had the Shrimp and Polenta which came with a poached duck egg on top. The presentation was lovely and the combination of flavors very nicely done. One picky part on my part is that the description mentioned feta, which was a selling point for me. If there was any feta, I wasn't able to discern its presence at all. However, since the overall flavor was so pleasing, I hardly missed it. Hubby had the Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Scramble, which he absolutely devoured. My 9 yo daughter had The Frenchman's Toast, which was a substantial 3 piece platter, and I had to stop her at 2 pieces for fear she'd get sick. She said she couldn't stop. The service was friendly and helpful, but not overly attentive. The food was quite slow in arriving, but that may have just been the holiday rush. They said to make reservations and they weren't kidding, the place was packed.

Lattes were very, very good, and there is a large, lovely courtyard in which to consume them during the wait. We showed up at prime brunch time (10:30-ish on a Sunday), so the 2-hour wait was comparable to wait times at Portland's small brunch places. The main hostess didn't really seem to be a people person, which is unfortunate, but the backup hostess was the owner's daughter who was visiting for the weekend. She was perfectly welcoming, smiley, and accommodating of our larger-than-average family. The atmosphere is very French bistro. The food is high quality with impeccable ingredient-sourcing, as local as possible. Big city quality, small town service. We ordered 5 different items, and everything was just great. The owner, Laurette herself, was our server, and upon delivering our plates she noticed that my baby had fallen asleep on my dominant arm and, people, she CUT MY TODDLERS' FOOD. Yes, the owner. Yes, multiple toddlers. To top it off we met some lovely locals at the surrounding tables, and the whole experience made us want to pack up and move to Port Townsend. (Don't get me started on her tempting selection of cooking classes!) And 90 year old lady who ordered a 6-shot breve while we were there, if you are reading this: you made our month!

Amazing menu. Had the egg BLT and Dutch babies. The Dutch babies did not have the same texture and quality I prefer but the egg sandwich was great. Wish I lived here to try more!!! Service was slow as molasses - staff clearly more laid back and not trained in consolidation. If you have the time, I'd recommend this cafe.

Annual visit, this time with 4 of us. FOOD (pastries): 5.0. I only wish there were éclairs left when we arrived. Nice touch was noticing "Love" written in longhand in chocolate atop the chocolat au pain. The almond croissant was outstanding, as was the fruit pastry. COFFEE: 3.5. Not as good as our previous visits. Just ok. AMBIANCE: 5.0. Cozy, warm interior with patio available. SERVICE: 4.0

Hubby and I wanted some caffeine and a snack about mid-afternoon the day we went to Port Townsend. We ended up at the Sweet Laurette Cafe with a friendly, helpful barista and a beautiful shaded open patio where we could sit and just enjoy the lovely warm, sunny afternoon for a while. I ordered Cafe Borgia which is a Mocha infused with orange peel and I paired it with a lemon ricotta cookie that was soft, moist, iced with butter cream frosting and absolutely delicious! Hubby ordered a Cafe Carmelo, made with Sweet Laurette's own caramel sauce. He also had a nice Chocolate, Chocolate cookie. What a nice way to spend some time. Would loved to have been able to have a meal or even just a sandwich there....maybe next visit....

Had brunch with my family. Menu reflected that of a true chef much to the delight of this traveling "foodie" family. The bowls of hand-crafted coffee drinks were tasty and fun! Highly recommend if you find yourself in Port Townsend. Located in the uptown neighborhood.

After 5 visits, I've lowered my rating. Reason: The kitchen timing is broken. . A couple weeks ago, we waited an hour for our food. Were told that there was a glitch. We didn't feel like the waitress went out of her way to console us. . This week, 2 plates came out after a fairly long delay. The 3rd plate arrived several minutes after that. Things like this take the fun out of what used to be a great experience.

The only reason this gets for stars is because the place was so amazing they're doing themselves a disservice by operating in such a small space! My husband had the TexMex Migas, and coming from Texas, our expectations were high...and they were blown out of the water! The freshness of the food, quality, taste, and helpings were better than we would have expected. I had the farmers breakfast - super fresh eggs, spinach, pesto and a whole bunch of other goodies I can't remember because they're gone now. you won't be disappointed with this dish either. This place is a winner. Take advantage of the outside seating and appreciate this quaint downtown area, and gobble down an incredible breakfast and plan on skipping lunch - you won't need it!

Delicious foods and warm staff. I didn't experience any wait but it was a Friday brunch. Decor was cute and frenchie just as it intended. Bakery and coffee shop is kind of separated from the restaurant area but connected. We got some pastries to go and they were delicious. The apple tart was just the perfect sweetness and delicately flaky. Perfect spot for a quick stop when you're waiting for ferry. Get some pastries and enjoy them on the boat!

The good: Nice employees Excellent quality, presentation and taste I've been to Better Living for Coffee, Velocity and Sunrise Coffee locally. Each place has it's good things but this shop has them all. Including superior coffee drinks. Not that the others were bad, they weren't. But this shop hits every standard for a great Saturday morning espresso date. All pastries including chocolate sauces and such made in house. There wasn't anything about the products, ingredients or flavor see didn't like. I had one of the signature drinks. Mocha with orange oil and a small curl of fresh orange zest dropped in. Very good even though fairly sweet. Right around the corner from the farmers market. The not so good: Prices are very high. Would have been a five star review but for cost. Mind you, everything was top notch in quality and appearance. But you do pay for it. A little over $18 for two lattes and two pastries. That's pretty steep by any shops standards. But it was so good I would come back.

This restaurant is a gem in Port Townsend. It reminds me of Chez Panisse, and France.... Great atmosphere, Everything is really good- all the sauces, the wines, etc... We were there for dinner recently. But I remember a breakfast there years ago being delicious out on the sunny patio. And the owner is very talented- a good chef, a nice person, and she has that gift of being welcoming and being of service A really good restaurant! ...even for someone visiting from a foodie town.

Wonderful breakfast! My husband and i ordered from the specials menu (farmer's scramble and Tuscan omelette). The portions were very generous and the coffee was great. Our server was attentive and the atmosphere was light and airy. What else could you ask for?

Went on a Saturday morning. They were busy and it took a long time to get service. I had to find the server to ask for a refill of coffee. They were just busy and we didn't mind. We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely day. But if that is important to you... The coffee was good. I ordered the farmers market scramble. It was perfect and delicious. This was a perfect choice for a leisurely Saturday morning brunch.

Was looking for a quick place to eat while in town and found this place. Place is beautiful, classy, very nice little cafe and bistro. Food is awesome, the croqu madame was on point and they actually had a nice selection of local beers which was a nice surprise. Did not get a chance to try the cafe side of the place as it was almost closing for lunch and getting ready for dinner service.

It's been a couple years. Food is really good. Service is not. What a shame. The people are friendly enough and when u can get their attention in all the hustle and bustle they are responsive eventually... Just very slow, especially considering the prices. We will give these folks another try, and come in early for lunch.

Have eaten at Sweet Laurette's many times, the latest for Friday lunch. A special was ling cod fish tacos. Everybody serves fish tacos these days and they can be boring, but Laurette's were very special. Her home-made tortillas were unique and delicious and the fresh ingredients allowed the subtle fish to be the center of attention, which is not often the case at other places. Another great meal at this local gem.

Delicious! After trying many subpar restaurants in Port Townsend, I didn't have a lot of hope for Laurette's. I'm happy to say I was more than pleased. The food was plentiful and so good and fresh. I had half a Croque Madame which came with either fries or salad. I chose salad. It was great and the sandwich was on toasted baguette with lots of ham, melted cheese and a fried egg. So good and filling. I also had a "cup" of the soup du jour which was more like a bowl anywhere else. This soup was salmon chowder and loaded with salmon and plenty of vegetables which were perfectly cook, not over done and mushy. We will definitely go back another day.

Such a nice little find on our trip to Port Townsend! The service was really great and super dog-friendly. We were seated on the patio with our dog and when it got chilly out, they offered to move us into the cafe area. Our waitress gave us extra bread for the pup, so he could have dinner too! The food was pretty amazing. From the moment we had the bread, we knew we were in for a treat. It was really good bread--warm and crispy on the outside. The french onion soup is a definite must have! We also ordered Cafe Borgia which is a Mocha infused with orange peel to top off the night. Great service and food!

This is a great lunch spot in uptown. My reason for not giving 5 stars - it is too pricey for what you get. Food is great, but it shouldn't cost $50 for two sandwiches.

Warm service, exemplary food and drink, and cheerful atmosphere. The quality of ingredients, sourced from the nearby farmer's market, and the care put into the creation of every dish should dispel any other reviewer's concern for the price point and wait times. What happened to slowing down and truly enjoying a meal? This place knows the perfect formula to make any locavore and slow foodie beam with delight. If unfamiliar with the slow food movement, please refer to Carl Honoré and Alice Waters. Their insights will change your perspective, and make you appreciate wonderful restaurants such a this. 5 stars!

This review is ONLY for the coffee, not the food. The lunch was delicious. After lunch my girlfriend and I walked over for some coffee for the road. I asked the male barista if they had iced coffee because if not, I would have ordered an iced Americano with an extra shot. He said they brew it the night before, cool it, and have it ready for iced coffee the next day, so I ordered a medium iced coffee. He disappears into the kitchen and brings back a HALF cup of coffee with ice melting as we spoke and tells me where the cream is. After I add my tablespoon or so of cream and a little agave, which didn't increase the coffee capacity at all. I say, "could I get a little more?" then the barista replies, "coffee?" Ummm, no more water to weaken my coffee even more?! He disappears again with his drip coffee carafe where my girlfriend and I could see him through the kitchen door adding hot coffee to what I'm guessing was hot coffee with a little ice added to begin with. My ice melted within a few minutes and I was left with a watered down luke warm cup of coffee. He could have just been honest about not having iced coffee. There was nothing iced about it. Another note about the service, as we walked in there was a man in front of us who had already been waited on. A girl server walked up and asked if we had been helped. The man said he had been waited on then pointed to us because we had not been helped yet. We made eye contact with her and she walked into the other room. I guess she wanted to serve him and not us? Just bad service all around.

Stopped in for breakfast and had a decent enough one, though the service was a bit flawed. My friend's crab omelette was pretty good, if a bit rich for me, but she liked it. My 2 eggs and chicken sausage were properly cooked, but the sausage was a bit bland. My Swiss Orange mocha was excellent, though I wished the server'd have asked if I wanted whipped cream or not. My friend's OJ didn't arrive on time, my dry sourdough arrived slathered in butter, and the portions of potatoes were a little skimpy, but they tasted good. Our server was very polite and comped me a coffee for the wrong toast, so it may have been a problem in the kitchen; I appreciated his gesture. I'd come back if someone else wanted to return, but would like to try other places in PT first.

This is a pleasantly wonderful morning wakey-wakey, rise and shakey breakfast-y stop. Warm & friendly service. Whether you want tasty french toast or an a la carte side order creation (like mine: the chicken apple sausage, griddled[?} polenta and griddled potatoes). YumMmmmeh and good morning to ya. This was our last stop before heading back to the 206.

Off the beaten path in PT. The Coffee here alone is worth the trip and that actually would be 5 Stars for the incredible brews served in the coffee shop (these can be brought to your table as well.) Laurette's Cafe Restaurant is split in three areas, a coffee shop area, so it is possble to order some AMAZING coffee and a pastry -to go. Then there are indoor and very quaint outdoor seating areas for table service. Not an incredibly large place but still good for small groups in a comfortable setting. However, my Breakfast felt so overrated to me.. sorry yes... While I love that it is all farm fresh and fresh to order and the waitress will say this is why it takes so long... but the crazy slow service and everything including just egg scrambles all priced at $15 seems too steep and not worth the PAINFULLY long wait for food. Our table ran out of coffee and conversation as we sat there for an HOUR before our food arrived! Don't worry they still add 20% to your parties bill, so no hurry needs to happen on thier end. : / Tip: For Breakfast head to the coffee shop side and try out a bowl of Umbria in your favorite drink! You'll be glad you did. The barista here was a Master!

Table of 8 and they forgot to put the order in for the kids. Had to continue to ask the staff. Best guy here is the busser that helped us get the kids food. So if you come here make sure they get it right.

We will not be coming here again. The food was actually good, really good, but the service was awful. We were seated right away and then it took about 20 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us. We gave our orders right away; chowder, quiche, and the salmon blt all with salads. I think they must have gone and caught the fish and grew the lettuce because it took over an HOUR to get our food. There were only like 5 other tables with people in the whole place, so that was unacceptable. We would have been happy if they apologized or offered us a little bread or something while we waited...it just became ridiculous.

Been for both breakfast and dinner and the food was really good. easily the best in Port Townsend. Everything we've had was great; especially the braised dishes. Breakfast on the weekends are a family favorite and good for kids too. Lemon ricotta pancakes are especially great. Staff is very friendly.

We eat at Sweet Laurette's once a week for our "date lunch." The menu is always interesting, and the staff cares about their service. At lunch there's a daily quiche special that never disappoints, as well as other tasty items prepared with fresh, local ingredients. If you're in Port Townsend in the wintertime, take advantage of Laurette's cooking classes, too. This restaurant is a great local gem!

It's not very often a meal feels perfect in every way but this was one of those meals. My friend and I came for brunch and every item looked delicious and tempting. We decided to split the Salmon Benedict and the Farmer's Market Scramble. The Salmon Benedict was served with a huge fillet of salmon under the poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. The grilled potatoes on the side were good and filling. The Farmer's Market Scramble had many roasted veggies and creamy chevre mixed in. The scramble came with toast and potatoes. Everything was extremely tasty and couldn't have been better. They serve Caffe Umbria coffee which I was impressed with as Umbria is one of my favorite roasters. The coffee refills were plentiful so I got my $1.75 worth for my coffee. Sweet Laurette's supports a local bakery by serving Pane d'Amore bread from around the corner. The meals were $15 (scramble) and $16 (salmon Benedict) each so the dishes weren't particularly cheap but the quality and generous portions definitely merited the price. The top quality and freshness of the ingredients is obvious. On the way out we each got a pastry for later. I chose the berry custard tart with strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries on top and it was divine. I loved Sweet Laurette's! I can't wait to return when I'm in the area. Service was excellent and the bistro itself is very quaint and cute. Gorgeous artwork adorns the walls and lots of light streams in the front windows overlooking the street. You feel like you're in Paris!

This is my favorite place to have brunch. We've been coming here for years and Sweet Laurette's has always been amazing. I love the eggs rosa, farmers market scramble (changes with what's in season), and frenchman's toast. I usually get some sort of egg dish so I can have their grilled potatoes. Their coffee is good and espresso comes in big bowls. Another bonus... they have really good jam!

This one is off Water Street but worth the very short trip up the hill. We went before we left town and not knowing it was such a popular place (and we had a group of 7) we had to wait about 45 minutes... but the do have a small attached cafe where you can grab a latte while you wait. We had the farmers scramble and salmon benedict... both were amazing! Their food is all so fresh, from the local market we were told. The flavors alone made up for any wait. It is well worth it to visit the spot for breakfast, brunch or whatever they serve as you will be happy.

Okay, no joke, this was one of the BEST dinners I have EVER had! Wow! We were staying the night at a B and B in the area, and the host told about this place. The hostesses and our server were friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. Fresh salmon and halibut cooked to perfection, the veggies were from the Farmers Market that day, great wine selection, and just for the gluten free folks like me, the BEST flourless chocolate torte on the planet. Don't miss this place if you are anywhere within 200 miles!

Our Thanksgiving dinner at Sweet Laurettes was somewhat of a... turkey. This was the first time I've eaten in a restaurant on TDay, so I wanted it to be, well, special, gourmet, better than I could make at home. The prices indicated that it would be. $25 for a turkey entrée and $19 for the vegan offering, $10 for the green salad. $8 for a glass of wine (the special wine du jour was $10 per glass) And, I've had some beautiful breakfasts there, so figured we couldn't go wrong. For starters, we had reservations, but the table wasn't ready, so we had to take a walk for 15 minutes until it was available, as there was nowhere inside to sit. Fortunately, the weather was mild and my shoes not too uncomfortable. Then, we were given a tiny table, squeezed in between two other tiny tables by the front door and not in the dining room. Big enough for two coffees, perhaps, but not full dinners. When people came in the door, they were standing right next to our table and if they left the door open, as they often did, it was rather chilly. We waited a while for our orders to be taken, but they brought us two rolls, which were rather tasty, but two? And minimal butter. The salad was good, but we wanted to share it, and my dinner companion had only a tiny plate (to match the table) so he couldn't have much. The dinners came fairly quickly, problem was, the turkey dinner was lukewarm, so it had to be sent back to the kitchen. The waiter also took the fork to go with it. Meanwhile, my vegan dinner, a stuffed squash and a few brussel sprouts, looked rather sparse. I remembered something about green beans on the menu, but the waiter assured me that no, all I got was brussel sprouts. Oddly, the woman at the next table, which was close enough to hear their conversation and see their plates in detail, did have green beans with her vegan plate. Out came the turkey dinner, warmed up this time, accompanied by a plate of green beans, with apologies from the waiter. A fork was requested, which he supplied, but for some reason he took the knife, so my dinner companion, rather than complain again, cut his turkey with a spoon. The turkey was tender and the dressing was fine, but really nothing else special about the meal. My stuffed squash contained seeds, which I think should have been removed, as I felt rather silly removing them from my mouth. The dinner came to $70, which wouldn't have been bad for something really special, in a comfortable setting, but was ridiculous for what we got. We didn't stick around for dessert. And, I couldn't help overhearing the people two tables over who were still waiting for their turkey dinners with nothing to snack on but their single rolls. One woman said she was "feeling sad." We did get plenty of apologies, but that didn't really make up for a disappointing dinner.

The food is very good for breakfast and lunch. They use local farms and bakeries The service is hit and miss most of the time. Sunday mornings get here by 11. Am or you will be waiting. I have not tried their dinner yet

Wonderful food served ridiculously slow, without explanation or apology Seven of us had dinner on Saturday, July 27. The restaurant was not particularly crowded. I understand the good food takes time to prepare, and I also understand seven is a large party but we had to wait over an hour between each course. There was no explanation. here was no apology. For what it is worth, the Caprice salad, and the crab cakes were wonderful.

Went here last summer when spending a few weeks on Whidbey Is,and & fell in love. Back this week while on vacation on Bainbridge Is,and & just as delightful, delicious & Memorable as last summer. Adorable, charming, great service, wonderful cappuccinos & yummy desserts. The entrees other diners were eating looked scrumptious, but we had just eaten delicious 'dawgs' on the main rue in Pt. Townsend, so alas--no room! Next time...!

I flew down from Stuart Island to meet a friend and came in for lunch. I had a grilled Salmon BLT which was sensational! Best sandwich ever. Really. The fries are a 10 also. What an awesome little cafe just a few blocks off Water St, the main touristy drag. If it were not for Yelp, we would have missed this little jewel. We got there on a Wednesday morning for breakfast 10 minutes before they opened and there were (6) people ahead of us waiting to get in. At 8:00AM we were promptly seated and served a very mellow blend of coffee. At that point during my visit in NW Washington all the coffee tasted like burnt dirt (what is it with you people and your bitter coffee?) Their coffee was a welcomed change. Before breakfast was served the entire (12) table dining room was full. The anteroom is a bakery/coffee bar with a few tables for coffee for those just stopping in for a cup of coffee and a scone. Breakfast was delicious! You could tell the ingredients were fresh and everything was made to order. Wear your Carhartt so you get a discount on the "Carhartt Breakfast". Highly recommend!

I took my 6-year old daughter her for dinner during a Mommy & Me weekend, and it was a lovely experience. She was the only child in the restaurant, and there was no kid menu. But our waitperson and the chef (who came out to say Hello) made us both feel so welcome and did such a wonderful job of making my child her own special dish, which she devoured. I had the French Onion Soup and Mussels Dijonaise--both were absolutely delicious and a treat for the palate! For a small restaurant in a small town, they had an extensive and varied wine list. We were too full for dessert, so we ordered a couple of huge, yummy cookies from their bakery/cafe to take home. We had the luxury of eating them in our room in at the Port Ludlow Inn, while watching 'A Bug's Life.' :) I would definitely come here again next time I'm out there. Their brunch menu looks heavenly!

About as good as you would want. Found it through Yelp, and walked by and decided the food looked good enough to go in for dinner. We have now eaten here for breakfast and dinner, several months apart. The food is outstanding. The coffee is strong at breakfast, omelets were outstanding, even the fried potatoes were to die for - well seasoned, and fairly crisp. The toast was made with artisan bread, not the usual grocery store stuff with no real texture. The staff each time was familiar with the menu items, and no problem in service - quick and thorough. The only downside is that there was too much food to enable us to eat any of the goodies in the display case in the bakery portion. Each time we have been there, the place has been full. We will go there every time we are in PT, it's that good.

My mom and sister and I were visiting from Seattle last weekend and found this place on yelp. This place was so good we had to eat here twice! The first morning my sis and I split the Farmer's Market Scramble. It was incredibly delicious. We also got a raspberry almond tart at the end. It was fantastic. The second morning I ordered the crab cake benedict, which was very delicious and very rich. My mom really liked her chorizo scramble. The mimosas are huge here, and I highly recommend the sunrise mimosa, which has a little cranberry juice added. Both days our servers were just great - the first guy was such a sweetheart, and the second girl was really funny. I will definitely be back next time I'm in PT.

Came here for a quick breakfast before leaving Port Townsend. I had a latte (called something fancier) and I believe my boyfriend just had an Americano. We ordered 3 different breakfast pastries. We had a chocolate croissant (okay), a savory croissant with roasted peppers and cheese in it (great!), and some caramel bakery item (good). We scarfed everything down quickly -- apparently we are hungry people. The service was good as well as the food. Thank you!

Had brunch here Memorial day weekend. I had the most delicious ricotta and lemon pancakes; very fluffy and tasty. The salmon Benedicts looked great too, as did the Dutch baby's, but will have to try next time, as I regretfully only have 1 stomach. This is a popular place, so expect a wait. We had to wait 30 min. They also garden patio seating, but it was not open when we arrived.

This is a beautiful place to grab breakfast, a quick pastry and coffee or just to nibble and hang out. It's within walking distance of downtown and has a very sweet and cute charm about it. The service wasn't as attentive as I would've expected but my friend and I were in no rush and were in it for the moment. The service overall was nice without sugar overload. I recommend the Eggs Rosa and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were excellent. I really wanted to try out the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes but with their healthy servings I couldn't take another bite! If I'm in PT again, I'll definitely stop by. Highly recommended!

We were in town (stayed at The Tides-Inn) and decided to have a 'real' breakfast. Sweet Laurette's did not disappoint. I got the Tex-Mex Migas and it was dee-vine! The service was excellent and the coffee strong. We liked it so much, we went back the next day! Day two...I had the biscuits and gravy! It too, was excellent. So, if you're looking for a good breakfast, cute location, great service and reasonably priced, hit this place up!
